Our Valentine Party was a huge success. A very special thank you to all of our sweet moms who made it possible! It is always such a blessing to watch the excitement of giving and receiving these special cards. We enjoyed working on space cards and a surprise Valentine's video message for our 5th grade buddies. Anne Hampton led us in the sweetest prayer for their journey. We hope they have a great time at Space Camp next week. Please continue to pray for our friends and their chaperones.
Monday and Tuesday, I will be at the school testing prospective students for K-5. It seems like yesterday that I tested your little ones. Continue to pray for these families as they make this very important decision. Your children were so precious this morning as we prayed for the 5th grade and our "little guests" and their butterflies. Their hearts just get bigger and bigger as they show God's love in so many ways.
We worked on CVC word review today! We also dove back into our Money Unit. Please allow your child to practice sorting coins by using a handful of change. See if they can sort and identify the coins. Encourage them to see how many different ways they can make a certain amount. (How many ways can you make $0.15?) Have them count by 5's, 10's, and 1's. Addition can also be practiced using coins. If you have not heard our "Money" song, please ask your child to share it to you! You will love it!
On Valentines Day, we will be estimating, counting, sorting, graphing and adding conversation hearts. We will also be working on a Valentine Poem Journal! We continue to work on our Math Story Problems. Many of these are in our journals. We will be sharing those with you soon.
Remember to work on your "Reading Racer" Words. I will check these on Thursday this week since we have a holiday Friday and Monday. Have a very Happy Valentine's Day! Thanking God for a Savior that is the perfect example of what "Love is.." and for sweet little friends that are HIS hands and feet every day!!
