Dear Parents,
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving week. It is a blessing to teach your children and I am very thankful for you.
We will have a few changes over the next week or so. We will continue to have play practice Monday through Thursday. Please have your child practice his/her part. Due to the extra practice at home, we will not be sending the leveled readers. Your child will be bringing home Christmas stories and the Phonic Library stories that go along with our reading unit in their daily red folder. Keep these for practice and review. Reading
Dear Parents,
I am so proud of the progress of your sweet children. They are learning to work in whole group, small groups, and independently. We continue to work on listening and following directions.
Snack bucket friends can bring something to share with snack. It is so much fun listening as your children share their special item. We then take questions from the class.
We will begin "star of the week" Sept. 20th. I will let you know in advance when it is your child's week. We will also begin sending "Fredericka" and "Freddy" home for their weekend visits. They will bring a journal along with them. Feel free to write about anything your child does with his or her little green friend. Drawings or photos are welcome.
We added "kind words" to our motto last week (wise choices). We are really working hard to remember that we only say words that "build our friends up". Thank you again for all you do at home to reinforce what we do at school.
Next week in Kindergarten:
Reading/Language
-Letter Bb - Benny Bear
words beginning with Bb
writing Bb
-High Frequency words - I, see, my, like
-Printed Readers - As we complete the lessons, these will be sent home for your child to share and discuss with you
-Wordless books
characters/settings
drawing conclusions
predict/infer
Math
-Zero to Five
counting
writing
reading
making sets
problem solving
Math vocabulary for the week will be sent tomorrow in our Home-School connection sheet.
Bible
-The Story of Noah
* God keeps his promise
*We never have to be afraid
*God will take care of us
Fabulous Friday will be filled with many bear adventures. Please let your child bring a favorite teddy bear to school with them on Friday. We will have a day full of sorting, graphing and counting our bears. We will also use describing words to paint a picture of our bears. We will finish off Fabulous Friday with a teddy bear picnic. It is going to be a "beary" exciting day!
Looking forward to another super week as we...
